The Piwnica Poetycka ENS Foundation and Kredens pod Oknami invite you to the 53rd meeting in the “Nasi goście” (Our Guests) series, which is also the fourth evening in Joanna Okoń’s own series, “Muzyczny wieczór z Joanną Okoń” (A Musical Evening with Joanna Okoń). In the chamber concert “Life Between Harpsichord and Piano” (in Polish, “Życie między klawesynem a fortepianem”), the evening’s special guest, Olena Zhukova, will play the piano and Joanna Okoń the violin.
Join us for an extraordinary chamber concert by Olena Zhukova, an outstanding harpsichordist and pianist from Kyiv, and Joanna Okoń, a violinist known and admired not only in Warsaw.
The two artists share a passion for searching out and discovering their own musical spaces. They met years ago in a recording studio, while making an album of Polish music titled “Zagubione skarby” (Lost Treasures), and that meeting grew into a collaboration and a friendship.
This special evening will be a conversation through music, and also a story about Olena Zhukova’s wide-ranging creative work. It will be hosted by Joanna Okoń, the creator of the music series. As always at Kredens pod Oknami, hot tea and a warm welcome will be waiting for our guests!
Olena Zhukova performs around the world at renowned festivals and music events. She teaches at the Academy of Music in Kyiv and creates artistic programmes together with outstanding, internationally acclaimed musicians.
Joanna Okoń, a violinist, chamber musician and teacher, carries on a long family tradition of music. She is an active chamber musician who has drawn attention on Polish and international stages. She also searches out and records little-known works, so-called musical “gems”, bringing the memory of their forgotten composers back to life.
The artistry and passion of both performers promise an evening full of moving moments, emotion and beauty.
