The Piwnica Poetycka ENS Foundation for Culture and National Heritage was established with a mission of socially useful activity and creation.

It is the result of the passion and many years of creative searching of two artists, Anna Bojarska and Marek Urbański, and of the people they invite to work with them.

It has existed in its current legal form since 26 January 2018.

It pursues its goals by preserving and creating new values, and by inspiring and teaching a new generation to develop creatively and to grow stronger in their sense of the need for patriotic activity and for the promotion of Polish culture.

It supports and promotes all activities that serve human harmony with one’s surroundings and with the context of social and cultural life and development.

It undertakes, consolidates and strengthens all creative and constructive initiatives that serve the mental and physical balance and health of people of all ages, and harmony with the landscape and the geopolitical environment, according to the broadly understood principles of humanitarian action and of coexistence, also with our so-called “lesser brethren”, that is, animals.

for children aged 4 to 7

Moja tajemnica (My Secret)

Devised and performed by Anna Bojarska. Directing supervision: Dariusz Wiktorowicz. Set design: Jan Zieliński. Music: Błażej Dowlasz. Accordion: Przemysław Wojciechowski. A literary and theatrical game for children aged 4–7. This introduction to theatre for the youngest, performed by Anna Bojarska, takes the audience into the world of theatrical ideas and into the magical atmosphere of Danuta Wawiłow’s poems, drawn from children’s imagination. The show is a game meant to inspire the audience to name feelings and emotions in their own language. This is how crumbs of children’s poetry come into being; we will collect them in a children’s book of thoughts.

The show, which is also a meeting, aims to jointly create a “Children’s Book of Thoughts”, a book written and painted by children. During or after the meeting we ask carers to write down the children’s thoughts spoken during the shared activity.

We collect them in the CHILDREN’S BOOK OF THOUGHTS… they can also be drawings.

In the spirit of Danuta Wawiłow’s idea that “every person is an artist, every child is a poet”, crumbs of children’s poetry come into being!

From press reviews

“The secret of the show lies in a very serious approach to the youngest audience. (…) With the help of very simple props and Danuta Wawiłow’s charming poems, the actress created a separate world of theatrical imagination, a world meant to inspire us to name feelings and emotions in our own painterly or literary language.”

“Randia …po polsku – drapieżna”

The Foundation presents Roma culture and the work of Romani artists. Its main project is Anna Bojarska-Urbańska’s book “Randia …po polsku – drapieżna”, the written and sung story of the Roma singer Bronisława Korsun, known as Randia, long connected with Warsaw. The book is dedicated to the memory of Jerzy Ficowski; its CD has sixteen songs by him, Elżbieta Bussold and Roma and Polish composers.

In 1964, at the 2nd Polish Song Festival in Opole, Randia was among the ten artists distinguished by the jury. On 5 August 2023 in Połczyn-Zdrój, during the 7th Gypsy-Slavic Feast, she received a special award from the Royal Roma Foundation. The book was launched with the concert “Mój fach szczęśliwy” (“My Happy Craft”), on the Romani paths in Jerzy Ficowski’s work, on 13 November 2024 at the Centrum Promocji Kultury in Praga-Południe, with the Roma culture group Miro Iło.
