Rozewicz.play.pl

We invite you to an exceptional evening of poetry on stage: “Rozewicz.play.pl”, a one-man show adapted, directed and performed by Marek Urbański, based on Tadeusz Różewicz’s play “Kartoteka” (The Card Index) and on the poet’s verse. Running time: 60 minutes.

The gala premiere took place on 11 April 2026 on the Emiliana Stage at Teatr Kamienica in Warsaw. The day before, on 10 April 2026 — in the year marking the fiftieth anniversary of his stage career — Marek Urbański was honoured with the Bronze Gloria Artis Medal for Merit to Polish Culture, at the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.

Marek Urbański has worked in the theatre since 1975. He trained under Zuzanna Łozińska in Jelenia Góra. He is a stage, film and television actor who also works in radio (radio plays, commentary and his own columns), in dubbing and in recording studios (documentaries, reportage and dialogue lists). He has created many musical adaptations of contemporary drama and poetry. In the late 1990s he wrote and presented the radio column series “Interpretacje — Sztuka — Codzienność” (Interpretations — Art — Everyday Life) for Radio Łódź. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the Aleksander Zelwerowicz Academy of Dramatic Art in Warsaw (extramural programme).

He values the JOURNEY more than reaching the DESTINATION. He was given his first camera for his fifth birthday. Through his father’s mother, née Greim, he is a descendant of Michał Greim — photographer, bibliophile, numismatist and medal maker. Since 2018 he has run, together with Anna Bojarska, the Piwnica Poetycka (Poetry Cellar) ENS Foundation for Culture and National Heritage, and since 2019 “Kredens pod Oknami” — an independent, artist-led local activity venue in Warsaw’s Praga-Południe district, today at ul. Boremlowska 4, where visitors are always warmly welcome. In October 2025 their many years of community and artistic work were recognised with the Marshal of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship Award.

Guests with accessibility needs are welcome to let us know by 2 December, by phone at 695 893 954 or by e-mail at abojurb@poczta.onet.pl

Want to Paint? Art Classes for Children and Adults

Join our weekly art classes at Kredens pod Oknami — a place to try your hand at drawing and painting, whatever your level of experience.

Together we learn the basics of art-making, while also exploring the history of art and drawing inspiration from the work of great artists.

These classes are more than just an easel and a brush — they also include creative activities, joint visits to museums and Warsaw artists’ studios, and going to exhibition openings, so that art becomes something to experience, not just to look at.

We meet every Tuesday at 6:45 pm, at Kredens pod Oknami, ul. Boremlowska 4.

Coming soon, for young people

Living Library: “From Stereotype to Understanding”

Instead of traditional books, participants will be able to “borrow” living books — people who, through their life, health, social or cultural circumstances, have experienced barriers, stereotypes or exclusion.

In small groups, young people will have the chance to talk with invited guests, learn their perspective and ask questions in a safe, moderated setting that respects everyone’s boundaries.

The conversations will be followed by a joint reflective and creative workshop, “From Stereotype to Action”, where we will consider which stereotypes we managed to overcome and how we can better support people experiencing exclusion around us.

The event aims to show young people that direct contact and conversation can be a first step towards changing the way we look at others.

    Joanna Okoń, “Życie wśród nut”

52nd Nasi Goście meeting; special guest Włodzimierz Pigła; violin concert by Joanna Okoń and Yaryna Nebesna

    Description

Dear Friends! On Monday 22 June 2026 at Kredens pod Oknami, 4 Boremlowska Street, we will host Włodzimierz Pigła in the original series of musical meetings by the wonderful violinist Joanna Okoń!

It will be about music, about life among the notes, and we will listen to a violin concert by Joanna Okoń and her musical protégée! Apparently a musical surprise awaits us too!

Włodzimierz Pigła is a Polish music librarian and musicographer. From 1971 to 1976 he studied musicology at the Academy of Catholic Theology in Warsaw under Jerzy Pikulik. Since 1976 he has worked in the Music Collections Department of the National Library in Warsaw, where in 1984 he became a curator, and from 1989 to 1997 he was head of the Department. From 1991 to 1996 he chaired the Music Libraries Section of the Polish Librarians’ Association. Since 1978 he has been an individual member of the Association Internationale des Bibliothèques Musicales, and since 2000 he has worked with the Répertoire International de la Presse Musicale. He has taken part in many national and international librarians’ conferences and also participates in the work of the Music Periodicals Working Group. He has been honoured with the “Zasłużony Działacz Kultury” (Meritorious Cultural Activist) badge (1986) and the Bronze Cross of Merit (1988).

His research interests focus on musicographic and documentation issues relating to Polish music of the 19th and 20th centuries; in particular he devotes himself to work on a bibliography of Chopin transcriptions and of Chopin-related themes in the work of other composers.

You are very warmly invited! We are grateful to Włodzimierz and Asia for their effort and for sharing music, passion and creative time!
