The series is about the struggles of the tenants of the title Warsaw apartment block with the caretaker Stanisław Anioł (Roman Wilhelmi), who, in the name of his own ambitions, tries to make their lives difficult. The makers intended Alternatywy 4 to present a collective portrait of the society of the Polish People's Republic, through the example of the residents of a housing-estate block in Warsaw.
